How About a Horn?

Worst electronic invention of the decade, cell phones. Number one cause of distracted driving and 'accidents'. In reality the word 'accident' should be replaced with something else because 99% of accidents aren't accidents at all but on purpose crashes, excerbaited by contributing circumstances and cell phones are number 1, followed by driving under the influence.

Most states have enacted laws against cell phone use while driving but that don't seem to stop the offenders anyway. If I was LE, I'd need a pile of citation books.....

It may be the worst electronic invention ever, but it sure has made lots of people lots of money.

We've had a foster baby since early in September and even though Wifey and I have our 70th birthdays in the rearview mirror, the baby is doing great, has been fun and we can handle it well. The baby is learning and recently started taking a few steps. The baby loves it here and we love having it* here. We are only caregivers until the baby finds a "forever home". We'll both cry that day.

There have been certain things that the agency required us to do. One of these was "Zoom" visits with a family in another state. They were able to dictate the times so the couple and their children would all be present. TWICE that mommy conducted the meeting while driving and with the kids unbuckled and running around the minvan getting snacks.

The husband couldn't attend the last (and hopefully final) Zoom meeting. There was third party on the Zoom connection, making it a 3-way Zoom. Someone from the third party had to repeat things because the multi-tasking mommy was busy texting her husband. and apparently wasn't paying attention to either the Zoom visit or her driving!

I'm normally not someone to get involved in the affairs of others, but since there's a possibility the baby we are caring for could spend time with that family, we let the agency know about the multi-tasking mommy. If I ever hear of her poor judgment resulting in a crash I'll make it a point to volunteer as a "character witness".

*I know a baby is a "he" or "she" and not an "it". As foster parents, we are required to share almost no information, send or post pictures, etc.

My neighbor planted this at the property line. My fence in the foreground. He doesnt like noise and dust from my tractor. Do you think he is trying to tell me something.

Good for you and your wife.

We were foster parents many years ago. I’ve never felt as bad as the day our foster kids left. It’s very very hard. Every time.

Bless you both.

Kudos Chim. Now I feel guilty for bothering you with so many questions! But at the same time, I have a young in, which explains why the build took so **** long. Hats off to you my friend.

Thanks to those who offered the kind words. It was something both Wifey and I felt we needed to do and we really enjoy it.

Well, I like the sound of the Bosch low tone horn on my Jeep, so I ordered one off E-Bray.... We will see how it goes from here.... Not much room to mount it (hidden) on SCUT though... And not sure where to put horn button, but we will see as we move forward...

I'm cheap. This (new) horn was a only couple of dollars on eBay with free shipping.

Our HF equiv is Princess Auto. Occasionally they have their "Freeway Blaster" on sale. Great horn for a tractor. None of this Road Runner Beep Beep!

Thanks for that heads up. Just got and installed one on my BX23 and it sure puts most of those anemic OEM tractor horns to shame.

My kioti and my Kawasaki came with a crappy horn. Sound like an old vw. I replaced the tractor with an electric air horn. Sounds a lot better. I still need to replace Kawasaki.
Anyone have a train horn handy

I saw a funny YouTube video on a small smart car with a train horn.

I don稚 want to post the youtube links cause the people making them are kind of dou** bags. But I would love to have one I could use to get the idiots that stop on RR tracks waiting for lights to change. Make them change their shorts.

We have "rotaries" or "roundabouts" in this area, and those entering must yield to those already on the rotary.
Many from other states have never seen a rotary, and a blast of loud horn is a very effective dissuader for those who need to get the yield message.
I have a decent little add on electric air horn on my Corolla, and when the occasion arises, I practice at my local rotary.
It is fun. Sorry:I do not know the brand, and it is deeply buried.
I would really like to have an even louder one though!
