My Lincoln 135 is easy as pie to use, with separate knobs for wire speed and amps. I just dial them up and it welds smooth as can be. I have a cheapie Clark welder at home that has "taps" too, and it's confusing as heck as first, but also works well once you get it figured out. Have fun with it!

I've never seen a MIG with an amp control...are you sure that isn't a voltage control? The wire feed speed determines the amps at a specified voltage...

My neighbor has a 110V Lincoln MIG...it welds very nice indeed!

I believe that MIG is actually "brighter," but the nozzle is in the way, so it's harder to see. I'm taking classes at the local community college and the instructor recommeded #11 to all of us. He said the #10 is just a little too light. I did MIG the last term and just started stick tonight. It is amazing how much easier it is to see what's going on when you don't have a MIG nozzle blocking your view.

Yea I talked to someone who welds a lot with mig and they said you just gotta learn to trust what is going on and learn the speed.
I guess I figured without the flux burning off I should be able to see better. I just really need mor welding time.
