CC Z Force 48
Gentlemen,

I have a used Z Force 48 that somewhere in its past was repowered with a 26 HP B&G. At purchase I noticed that the Hour Meter was locked on 206 hours and never changed as I used the machine.

Digging in to the issue I learned that the Hour Meter has its own internal battery, and it only has one electrical lead out. Further digging lead me to discover that that one lead needs only to be taped or zip tied to one of the spark plug wires, for the hour meter to work as intended. After doing so, the Hour Meter has been working perfectly.

It has been doing so for 3 years now. My questions: how long before this battery runs out, and has anyone attempted to replace the internal battery?

I believe the tiny tach hour meters are designed to run about 5 years on the internal battery.
