I am looking at buying a Case Concord 4710. How big of a tractor will I need?

google shows that it's a 47 foot air drill with 10" spacing. "I think you gonna need a bigger tractor"!! (Like Hooper says on the original Jaws movie, just substitute tractor for boat lol)

I recall seeing 7-10hp per foot for air drill depending on tank size, soil type, speed req, etc...

Always best to be on the high side.

Gotta be a lotta... Usually see those big planters with a seed hopper trailer and often a fertilizer trailer - all towed together like a locomotive!

Might be able to scale all the way back to 350-400Hp, though...

Not that it takes that much PTO power but it is a brute to pull. Quad Track would be nice, but see them behind 4wd tractors although since they are dual led or tripled for you call them 8 or 12 WD tractors. 350 HP is going to be marginal.

Am I the only one that finds it odd that a first-poster is asking about tractor size for this big of equipment? You don't usually buy something this big without a shed full of tractors already and lots of years/acres under your belt

From the formula they are saying roughly 350-450hp - just a little big for my BX :thumbsup:
