Anybody have a good seed blend for horse pasture?

fast growing
not too rich
Kind of a maintenance diet LOL (Like I should be on so says mama)

The hay I buy for Winter is usually Timothy, Brome, with a bit of Alfalfa but not too much. but for grazing I am thinking I want something a little lower in caloric content. I even thought of just planting fescue.

Any thoughts?

Fescue is by far the toughest grass we have ever tried that will hold up to the horses feet. It is a good forage grass for horses but not the best. We replanted a section of pasture years ago in Kentucky Bluegrass. The horses loved it! But the Bluegrass just wouldn't hold up. A couple of dry spells and the horse traffic wiped the Bluegrass out in two seasons.

My pastures are bahai but it does not like cold weather. Good for pastures but not for hay.

Go to tsc and get a couple of bags of there of pasture mix or the horse mix they both have a high forage yield and excellent grazing tolerance that is what I use

x's2, That's what I was going to say, or ask around at your local feed mill. Our pasture mixes here in N. Texas probably differ from where you are due to climate.
