homemade weight for front of tractor

Radman,
I think I understand your thinking about the tractor not minding the little bit of extra weight on the nose. Here is a picture of the front of my "other" tractor with the little bit of weight that it carries. Althought there is no FEL, (Spiveyman has my loader) it still carries a lot of weight up there. There is also a wear factor (of almost 0) when weights are on versus running with weights off. I seem to remember that there is almost 1300 pounds on the nose of that tractor, give or take a few pounds.

Here weights I made for my Rounder skid steer 12" wheel weights. The outer shied is from a old brake drum from a S-10 filled with lead I got free from a tire shop. Each are 85lbs that will fit in most lawn tractor with a 12" rim. I cut a grove out for the air valve and welded tubes to bolt on rim. I use a frying pan and LP burner to melt the lead. Then I made it so the nuts where counter sunk in the weight so nothing could hang up on anything.
