Very nice looking machine! Hope to see more pictures and a thorough description of the project! I would love to do something similar. My problem is finding the impeller for the vacuum.

Oops, just saw the rest of the thread, pictures and description. There is something wrong with my computer. I have the problem isolated to somewhere between the seat and the keyboard.

You can only leave so many chopped leaves.
With gator blades its fine to leave some, but 56 hardwood trees on 1 acre and most being oak, It's too much. In the fall I end up with about 20 cubic yards of MULCHED leaves. I figure the Gator blades and the Blowers impeller reduce to about 8 to 1 or better.

Yes - where do you get that stuff?
I can lay my mitts on most everything else I need to cobble together my own leaf thrasher 'cepting the hose.

therrien: did you say lexan?? for the price of that stuff around here, we could probably buy a really nice leaf pickerupper....especially 9/16: but it doubt it would look as good or work as good as the one you built: great job.

I got a store brand AgFab 8hp vac/chipper It was discounted I think $1100 I pay normal $1300. I had it now over 8years. But the 6" flex hose is bad. I have look it up on ebay. It around $75 to $101 for the better hose. If anyone have a better ideal where to find it cheaper?

Ya check out something like grizzly and get some dust collector hose.. I'm pretty sure it comes in 6" size. If it can tolerate chunks of wood it should work ok for leafs.

Now at my old play of work. They had this 6" orange and black hose they used for pulling dust out and blower hose. That I heard it came from a grain bin dry. But I never find that hose anywhere.
I finely found a mower deck that I think will work on my 1976 Wheel Horse D-250 it has all the pto on it and a three point. It a 48" mid deck pto from a New Holland. I'm still looking for a 60" deck for it. I would like to make a vacuum to run on the rear pto and hook on the 3pt and used a hydraulic cylinder to dump it high off the ground.
