I have a Mavic Pro, that really makes a noise, this is silent in comparison.

A green landscape is so obvious to us around here. We are in the middle of summer - extreme heat - almost 100% of the vegetation has withered away and is tan.

I had a drone fly over two years ago. It was heading due west. I'll just bet it had gone beyond the range of the owners control box. About 250 feet above the ground - just kept going until completely out of sight.

The better drones, such as DJI, have an automatic Return To Base function if they lose the control signal. A BIG safety factor.

Don't ask me how many times I have used that feature. just make sure your return height is set correctly!!!

How do you like the DJI mini 3 pro? I'm researching drones now and have mostly decided on the DJI Mavic Air 2.
I would not buy for a while. If you buy a new dji, I would wait until they came out equipped with built-in remote Id - FAA mandated to go into effect Oct 2023, I think.

A side note to that is that the dji mini is under the weight limit and will not need the remote ID provision.

Nice Picture. It does look peaceful.

I have one of the first Mavics which has been good until recently, the drone and controller have a communication problem, this one has the full controller which was an option and I don't need a phone, start up is faster and easier and navigating the functions is also easier, very light but not flimsy, fairly quiet by drone standards.
I have only had it a day but pleased with the image quality which has taken a hiding here with the reduction, a few panoramic modes and landscape or Portrait mode which I will probably never use.
I got the small flymore pack, 2 batteries, carry case, props and a few other bits, there is a bigger one with bigger batteries but given I have never flown more than 15 minutes I didn't see the point.
Can tell you more when I use it more
After doing more research, I am now thinking I may be better getting the Mini 3 Pro. Anything to add before I order?

I ended up getting a DJI Mini 3 Pro. So far it seems to do what I need. It is small and quiet. It takes good videos and images. Below is a pic I took on a job we are working on.

The mini 2 and 3 are under the 255 gram weight limit and don't need to worry about the remote ID law in 2023. They are a good drone.

I was not aware of this new "remote ID" requirement. Does that only apply to new drones, or are older ones going to be illegal?
