Live in Italy so using European spec's
Need some help,
designed my own log splitter which is based on 16cm (6") I-beam (see photo) it has a 13t ram but due to control value by-pass set (125 bar)is putting out only 8t, but is working fine on 99% on the logs. my issue is the beam is getting damage on the leading edge of the beam

any ideas! is the beam "twisting"? I was planning to up the by-pass pressure but have put that on hold due to this .

First and foremost the pics aren't working.
Secondly what is the spec on your beam, besides 6"? How thick is the web and the faces? How long is the stroke? How high off the beam is the cylinder mounted? How tall is the pusher and the wedge?
Sounds to me like the beam is too light. What style wedge do you have? What type of wood are you splitting? What pressure are you building and what is the relief set to?
