Home made gage wheels for LP landscape rake

After my first attempt to grade the driveway with my new rake I thought I made a costly mistake. The rake didnt perform as I thought it would. Then I got to looking on TBN and most guy's said landscape rakes are worthless without gage wheels.That sure is the truth. So I decided to try to make my own after contacting the dealer. The dealer wanted $360 not including shipping. So here is a few pictures of my $70 gage wheels. I do have some shop time from work invested but I consider that play time.

Nice job! It may be a stupid question because I don't have a rake (lots of road that could use one tho), but are your wheels adjustable...or do they need to be. I haven't looked at other threads so it may be clear from others experiences.

Yes they are adjustable.They have four 1 inch spacerblocks and one 1/2 inch. Your rake height depends on how you set the spacers. In the picture its hard to see them because the paint on the spacers blends the together.

Looks good. I wasnt sure how far to set the wheels back from the rake. Looks like yours are much farther than mine. You must have found some inexpensive wheels for that price. My $70 was just the wheels. They are very $$$

Got them from Ebay seller ToolAmerica. They still have them for the same price.

I wish I would have taken more pictures while I was making the wheels but I was wanting to get them done and didnt want to wast time withe the camera.

Mad, did the wheels that you bought have centered hubs or offset hubs? I can't tell from the pictures.
