In our area there are many pellet stoves. There do not seem to be excessive service problems.

We did a separate cook top and oven. Wall ovens are easier on the back. Gas is awesome for cooktop, but I think electric is better for the baking. We remodeled a few years ago and are using the same models in the new house. Separate units also allows you to pick the best cook top and best oven, they don't have to be a set.

Yeah the wife is requiring double ovens. So we are doing seperate cooktop and oven by default.

We went with this one. The upper oven is a casserole/pizza oven and preheats almost as fast as a toaster oven. It's the one we use almost always. The lower oven is for turkey, ham, rib roasts, etc., and the convection is great for even cooking with multiple cookie sheets. It's a standard slide-in range.

Got a quote on appliances. Gas and electric ranges are the same cost. Gas range is intriguing to me lots of people that have them say they wouldn't ever have anything else. Induction is right at twice the cost. It's officially out of the running.

Gas fireplace means gas water heater is back on the list.
I had electric stove/HW at my last house, propane here. Would never go back.
I have found that gas appliances (or at least propane) are more expensive than electric, and there doesn't seem to be the selection. A couple years ago I installed a power vent HW heater (no easy way to put in a vertical chimney)...there was exactly one model to choose from.

We have an all electric home (geo heat/air) other than the stove top. The oven is electric with propane range. After going from electric to gas burners we would never go back to electric. We stubbed a gas line out for the range top and just hook up a standard 60lb propane tank. Lasts us prob 6 months or more.
