Alan, in 8 years, I never sheared a pin on any of my own equipment. I did shear one pin on the hay baler; sure was a loud pop when it went.

Alan - I seem to remember the generic bolts at HD having letters such as "SJ" on the head. I think that is a reference number that the checker can look on a chart and get the stock number for pricing. And I am pretty sure all those are grade 2.
