Hinomoto E264
Hello everyone!
I am the proud owner of a Hinomoto E264 with a Bulldog loader and Woods bush hog. I have never owned a tractor before in my life. Just a few quick questions from my novice tractor owning self. First, what american model does this machine closely correspond to? Massey something? Second, about how often does one change the engine oil in this tractor? What oil would be recommended? Third, about how often does one change the hydraulic oil? What hydraulic oil is recommended? Fourth, what filter types are there (seems to be four visable?) and when do they need to be changed? Finally ( for now) do I need to grease/oil/lubricate any of the front wheel drive boxes? I found lots of grease fittings virtually everywhere and have greased them but should I remove the access plugs in the front differential and put anything/check anything there?
just for info : the tractor had 74.2 hours since a complete recondition - now has 84 hours - and is in excellent shape. Everything works as it should: I'd like to keep it that way. I got this tractor for my birthday from my terrific wife. Thanks in advance for your help. Little off target but I'm a retired Chef so if I can help you out in that area, my email is evanssnipe@aol.com.
Thanks again.

Thanks Buppy. Are those Massey Furgeson numbers? Also, what about the air filter?
Thanks again

Sorry, these are NAPA numbers. Add a 5 to the front for WIX numbers. I'll have to get back home for the air filter number.

I have an E262 which is the 2 wheel drive version. The filters on mine that I have been able to find so far are:

Hydraulic: NAPA 1663, Wix 52663, Baldwin BT260-10, Fram P1656, or Donaldson P556005

Fuel: Wix 33390, Baldwin BF940, Fram P7572 or P7514, and Donaldson P550127

Oil: NAPA 1460, Wix 51460, Baldwin BT215, Fram PH2895, and Donaldson P554408

The air filter I have not got to yet. I just got the tractor a few weeks ago and it was recently serviced. I have not changed any yet and wrote down the numbers on the ones outside. I have not pulled the air filter out of the canister yet to check its number.

The site for the interchange chart for filters is: AMSOIL Master Filter Cross Reference Guide

I hope this can help somebody.

Since everyone seems to be posting well on this thread, please reply to this one guys.

Have a Hinomoto N189D tractor and am looking for many of the same type of filters (Air, Oil ,Fuel, Hydraulic -- this tractor appears to have two hydraulic filters) and any info you might be able to supply regarding the hoses (upper and lower) as well as the single fan belt.

Any info you can provide will be greatly appareciated.

Thanks to all in advance!

I am a very frustrated owner of a hinomoto e264. I have been trying to find parts for my tractor for the last year. My biggest problem is not knowing what I can use as a substitute front axle parts. My right side barrings are no good as is the wheel hub seal. Can you please tell me how to find parts to work on my tractor? Or what I can replace the front axle with?

Thanks, Frustrated Ray

Sorry to hear your plight. I assume you have done a Google search and tried all the Hinomoto parts sellers and salvage yards (gotta ask)? I am going to assume you have an old bearing from the axle that's not totally destroyed. Is it a very unusual type of bearing that can't be matched using inside, outside and width dimensions of the old one? I am not sure what the seal looks like but if it is an O ring or gasket type, that is easily fabricated or replaced or even use of a product like permatex. If that won't do, I have read several posts where tractor owners were able to replace no longer available seals for their machines ( not talking about Hinomotos specifically) by matching automotive seals from the parts store ( probably not likely and certainly going to take some patience on your part and the counter man but if it comes to this, what are your choices?).

You may also want to look at AGCOs parts website. I don't think any of the Massey Ferguson compact tractors cross over directly to the 264 but I would not at all be surprised if some design and parts do. I would probably look at the 1030, 1035,1040 tractors front axle parts diagrams and see if they match the 264's and you may get lucky and be able to attack the parts problem from that angle. http://www.agcopartsbooks.com/PartsBooksN/Viewer/Default.aspx? I like to use the "browse books" option on left hand side of page to see all models)

For bearings go to a bearing supply ...they will help you better than "the counter man"

Thank you for the information that you have given here. I will definately look on the website that you have listed. And thank you for given me numbers to start with.

Bearing suppliers can usually take the old bearing and either cross match the numbers, or they can get enough dimensions off of it to come up with a replacement. I have done this numerous times with an assortment of Textile machines and old box presses,
Here in NC there is a chain called Dixie Bearings, but there are many other chains out there. The same places usually have a supply of seals too.

I thank you for the post you sent to me. I will do just as you suggest. But, I have run into yet another problem. Now it seems that my tractor needs a whole new front end. Any ideas as to what I can use as substitution parts for the front axle??? I have been told that I can use a massey ferguson front but, I am not sure that the information was correct.

Most of the FWD parts are no longer available. I have several Hinomoto parts tractors & also have made some Hinomoto FWD parts. Let me know what you need & I may be able to supply the parts you need.
