hills and shuttle shift

As someone who has yet to purchase a Kioti (altho I have priced out the DK45 with a local dealer), I am concerned that the shuttle shift may not be the transmission of choice when working up and down slopes, starting and stopping.
Any basis for my concerns, in your opinion?

Hi Gary,

I've driven geared tractors a couple of three days in my lifetime /w3tcompact/icons/tongue.gif... the first thing you learn is to find the right gear and stay with it and then go up/down the hill... you avoid shifting gears while going up or down a hill...

So to answer your inquiry... it wouldn't matter what style transmission you have...

I have the DK45 and have no problems shifting on hills. If you can shift a manual auto transmission on a hill you can shift the tractor on a hill.

Gary, I brush hog up and down pond banks, which are very steep in places, and I have no problem with a shuttle shift on my DK35. I also use the FEL is some places requiring that I back up and out and it does just great. Hope this helps.

Gary,I've been in some hilly places with my DK40 and it has always felt stable and under my control.
As with any piece of new equipment it is always wise to gain familiarity and confidence in a user friendly area.
For what it's worth,my son was schooled on hydros and wanted me to get one,but now after using the synchro-reverser he really likes it.
Why don't you test drive the two and maybe you can form an opinion on your own,try not to be swayed by the dealers too much,most are interested in selling what they have on the lot.
