High rev at startup.

My Mahindra 4025 revs to 2000 rpm when I first start it. I think its due to my governor sticking, but I can't locate it anywhere on the carburetor. I also can't find any diagrams online. Any advice would be appreciated.

Carburator? Was there a gas option for that tractor?

Sorry, injection pump...it's my first diesel engine.

It’s supposed to start hi and immediately come down to throttle position..
If it stays hi,, recheck your throttle position at the engine end..
If it comes down when it warms up a smidge..
Then I would think something is sticking..
