I'm pretty consciencious when it come to keeping my machine greased. Last fall I was greasing the zerk on the rock shaft's right side. It occurred to me that there should be one on the left side as well. Moved a couple of hydraulic hoses and there it was. It hadn't been lubed in the eight years since it was new. It's a pain to get the hoses out of the way so you can get to it.
I finally managed to get a gun on it and proceeded to pump the handle about 12 times without any excess grease squeezing out.
Have I done any damage? The 3pt hitch works just fine.

Maybe a little excess wear, but I wouldn't worry about it, if it was me.

if it ain"t falling off, or making a heck of a sqealing noise, it should be ok ;)

You might think about running a grease tube to that location to bring the zerk out to a more accessible location.

Where does one get grease tubes? I have a PITA zerk I'd like to make accessible.

Almost any place that makes hydraulic hoses can make what you need.
If you don't need a particularly long one you can also get the flex hose replacement for your grease gun, make one from that. You will have to fab up a bracket to mount the zerk end. KennyV

Why can't I fill it. I've pumped a ton of grease into it. Is it squeezing the excess into the hydraulic system?
