I bought a used 3120 and have greased all the zerks on the fel. I'm sure there are others but looking around I can't find them. Can anybody tell me where the "hidden others" are? I also hit the ones on the steering linkage. That is all that the ops manual shows. Thx Gus

No answers?

I don't have any specific info for 3120, but:

Is there one for front axle pivot?
Any for front wheel spindles? (On my tractor the 4wd version has none, but 2WD does)
Rear axles? (On my tractor I have to jack up tires to get weight off)

You can access an online operators manual on JD's website. It should tell where all the grease fittings are.

Can't speak for JD, but you really have to look at every pin where their is movement. Sometimes they are recessed and the opening becomes filled with dirt. I use a small screwdriver to clean out those openings so I can see the zirk fitting. On my backhoe, there are fittings that you cannot see because they are so far inside a recessed opening. I can feel them, and I can get a wrench on them to replace them, but I cannot see them. Don't forget the drive line, spindles and pedal linkage. I've tried counting how many zirks that I have on my loader backoe and always lose count before I finish. It's ridiculous!!! It also took me over a year to find all of them.

Some zerk tips.

Tapping the ball lightly often frees it just enough to take grease.
Heating a bit with plumbers torch also restores some of them.

I'll add another to the list:
Unloading the joint will sometimes allow grease to flow. The axle pivot on my equipment trailed and one steering knuckle on my truck will not take grease before I jack them up and unload those joints.

This is the only way to get it right. Even then, I miss some and find them months later. Got to have the owner's manual.

On some brands of equipment grease charts often can be found under the engine hood or inside compartment access doors.
Even my '80's CUT has the chart under the engine hood.
