Help with adding a valve for third function

What will reversing the hoses do except to put the regen on the other side of the cyl.

The tank port is still blocked in regen.

Regen usually connects both sides of the cyclinder together and adds pump. therefore the result is that the pressure acting on the head side of the cylinder overcomes the same pressure acting on the rod side (because the area is less due to the rod) and causes the cylinder to extend. so if you have the cylinder connected correctly the cylinder will extend (regen) one side and retract the other. if you have it backwards the cyclinder will extend when the spool is moved in either direction.

Will a DA cyl work using regen, and the answer is of course it will.

The end result is that a DA cyl will extend fast using regen and normal using the power mode of the extend.

The retract of the cyl will work all the time in the power/normal mode.

my point is that regen will always extend the cylinder, so if the spool is configured as 3rd position regen, which is: regen - Neutral - retract (power rod side/headside to tank). connected up the wrong way around the powerside would be connected to headside and would cause the cylinder to extend instead of retracting when the spool is moved in that direction and the cylinder would still extend when the spool is moved into regen.

if this is symptom on this machine it is likely the hoses are the wrong way around.

The OP is trying to angle a snow plow using a DA cyl, and he thinks it will not work.

It will work if done correctly, connecting the cyl in the normal manner.
