Box Scraper Help with a Box Blade (united vs. ?)

Looking to buy a 6ft. box blade for a Kubota L3940 (38hp). I have never owned one. I have researched several including the popular woods, bush hog brands etc... At my local machinery company they have these models in addition to a BB made by United (may be a company out of Alabama?). The one that will fit my tractor is a heavy duty model 672HD. There is extra bracing from the front tube to the back, forged shanks, reversible cutting edges. It weighs 445lbs. The cost is 369 plus tax. I am told this is their most popular selling BB (likely due to price). For being almost 1/2 the cost of the woods brand it seems hard to beat. Does anyone know about this product? I will be using the BB for occational driveway/logging road maintance (basically I will not depend on it daily or use it as much as my bush hog)

I have one and it work great for me. I'm not doing any very difficult work with it. I'm under the opinion that if you use something all the time you should get the best. I bought the United because it works fine and it was inexpensive. I've caught many tree roots and have not bent or broke it yet.

Got mine from an old timer down in kernersville and its a stout piece. I bought a five footer for the tractor I had at the time and now need a bigger(would like a 7')one, would definately buy a United again.
Where you getting it that cheap?

I have been using a 5' model for over a year with no problems. It sure was cheaper than the frontier model at the dealer. I now have a little bigger tractor and I'll see how it goes. JC

Silverking, I got this priced (a month ago) at Leinbach machinery company 5000 Reynolda Rd. in Winston-Salem. I have seen the same model priced over 450$ elsewhere. they have the United brand sitting next to the Woods brand in their implement yard and for the price it just seems hard to beat. I am just scratching my head wondering if there is something I am missing? It looks like it is well made and they did not try to sell me any other brand. Thanks for the info.

I have a 5' United. So far I have ripped out the middle shank and bent the frame where the lift pins attach.

I have a 6' united and have bent some teeth but not the boxblade it self. I have learned what I was doing wrong and havent bent any more teeth. I would reccomend this blade to anyone.

I got a 6' Flip Tail model of the KingKutter box blade for the 35 hp Jinma JM354. I do use the four wheel drive when getting big full box loads. This is in sandy loam soil. I'm not sure of all the advantages of the flip tail and I had to wait maybe two extra month's to get the bloomin' thing cause the KK kept "forgetting" to put it on the truck. I know you asked about United brand and I don't know about them. I just thought maybe you should know that the rear blade can flip up depending on direction of travel to keep dirt from building up a prematurly rasing the blade. The KK box blade has survived my use pretty well I remember giving about $525 for it. A side note is I went back last year and bought a 6' sliding angle rear blade also. It's what KK calls their "Professional" blades. I'm buiding a house w/ basement and have a small mountain of dirt to backfill and I don't have a FEL, so rear blades will have to suffice. bjr

Buy the United. You'll save money (compared to other brands) and will be well pleased with the product.

My buddy has a 6' United box blade that he pulls with his Kubota L4310 4x4 w/FEL. Ithas been through he**. I just ordered a United 6 1/2' Model 600 disk harrow that should be in by Monday or Tuesday of next week.
