I can't believe that they don't cover pick up & delivery. I never thought to ask this question when buying the tractor. I can see them charging for regular servicing or if I broke something, but not a problem that the serviceman, who was at my house looking for the problem, who put my tractor together, and admitted that he missed this problem before delivering it to me. It just isn't right.

Alright, I'm back at the home office. Checking through the tractor paperwork I find I have an "IMPLEMENT INSPECTION, ORIENTATION AND DELIVERY RECEIPT" for the loader and although there are a lot of places to put a check mark, there is no actual place that specifies the bucket edge is parallel when placed on a level floor. Obviously a shortcoming in the inspection documentation process.
I also find a booklet named "OWNERS WARRANTY INFORMATION GUIDE" that I specifically remember the dealer going over with me personally. On page 5 it expressly states "This warranty does not cover: Pickup or delivery of the equipment." It is highlighted in yellow marker.
Since your dealer caused the problem in the first place I believe they did you and themselves justice by rescinding the delivery/ pickup charge even though it was their intention to bill and collect the fee initially.

FWIW, if $50.- is their usual and customary fee for pickup and delivery I see that as a real bargain. Beats the pants off buying a trailer or having some one else haul it by a long piece.

just purchased b3030 last week. dealer had gone thru and highlited all important items in manual including that transport was not covered by warranty. fuel has gotten to be such an issue, that when i made final offer on tractor, dealer said he would accept it only if he didn't have to deliver it (70 miles). i have a trailer and hauling it was not a problem for me. dealer was very upfront about everything and i can deal with it as long as i know up front. i'm like most people, i don't like surprises......

I also paid for initial delivery. Apparently I negotiated that out of the sell price by being such a hard head. But it was disclosed and I did agree to it and we came to terms.
You make a very good point about the surprise factor.
Surprises are like coming home from a nasty days work to find the MIL planted on the couch in front of the only working TV and she's staying for the week and it's playoff season.
I don't like 'em either.

Welcome to TBN, you can't beat the service or the price and the idea's are pretty good too. Steal them often.

I bought a new 20' flatbed, dovetail, dual brakes, etc. trailer to trailer the tractor to my 135 acres 55 miles away. So transportation isn't really my issue. Being up front with me is. Surprise bills don't cut it with me. I tell all of my employees to explain EVERYTHING to the customer on my agreements and have them initial. I do everything I possibly can do to keep the customer happy, even if it does cost me some extra labor (time). It will pay big dividends in the long run.

I would sure have a problem with this. My business deals with corporations, not individuals, but I value the customers repeat business and referals more that trying to recoup every penny. We never nickle and dime a customer. That is a sure way to send them out hunting other quotes.
