help..transmission/hydriolic oil

i use chevron machine oil aw or something like that in my 4500 2wd, does anyone know if its close to being compatible with john deere 303, i have a yanmar i want to put it in.. the dip stick is stuck so i just want to drain it and put the right amount in and i have 5 gallons of the chevron on hand,the chevron machine oil is not a low viscosity hydrolic fluid.

Hi fish,

Does your oil have any kind of codes on it (JDM J20C/J20D)?

Those are the grades/equivalents the 3X20's will take.

Check with your John Deere dealer and see if the JDM 303 has been replaced by the JDM J20C or JDM J20D. Here's a product data sheet from Petro-Canada that indicates the JDM 303 is an older spec that has been replaced by JDM J20C or J20D, but it's not clear to me if it's both or only one of them.

The Chevron products above seem to be what you should use but I am no expert on that. Thats why I have this info as a friend has a skid steer with a Yanmar diesel engine that he wants to changeover.

Can anyone tell me who makes traveller for TSC ? I have heard that it is made by its name but can't find it online. May be useing the wrong search wording.
