I have an 07 45KS. The glow plugs are not activating. When I try to start at - 10 celcius, all I get is white smoke which I suspect is due to the glow plugs not activating. Anyone have this problem? Any suggestions on a fix? It's a very long drive to the dealer and I don't want to tow the tractor into the local diesel shop if maybe there is a loose wire or something.

Thanks.

P.S. I checked the fuses and they are good.

check and clean up terminals on glow plug wire. I have seen paint block proper electrical flow. Next check the relay, they can get weak and not allow proper electrical flow.

Is the tractor starting and blowing white smoke for a few seconds or is it not starting at all? -10c is pretty cool. Might try turning the key on and then off after the glow plug light goes off 3 or 4 times before engaging starter. This will allow a little more heat in the cylinders before starting which might help. I think some white smoke for a few seconds is normal when it is cold.

George, it's not starting at all...just blowing white smoke trying to start.

NY_kioti, I checked the connections they looked good. I'll go and 'dry' them out because sometimes looks can be decieving... How to I test the relay though?

Thanks for the replies.
