Some places have 'mouse over' enabled bubbles that auto expand...

Eddie,
Are you using tabs to open all of your different pages or a different browser session for each of your windows?

I tried what Chris suggested, but there's not change.

I'm probably explaining this with the wrong terms, so let me try to be more specific. When I'm on the computer, I like to have at least five website on at a time. Those are all different pages that are on the bottom of my screen. I click onto the bottom of the screen to go from page to page. If I find something on that page that I want to look into more, like say here at TBN, I'll open a tab at the top of the page and do my search from there.

My problem occurs with either situation. If I'm on here and I'm reading a thread that mention something that I'm interested in, I will go to a different page and do a search. Then I will go back to the orginial site, like TBN, and finish reading the thread. What will happen is the other site that I did the search on will pop up, or become the main screen when it's done loading and I have to minimize it to finish reading what I was interested in.

What I would like to happen is to be able to open those other pages, let them open on their own without them taking over when they are done. It seems that there should be a way to lock onto the page that I'm currently viewing and no other pages should come up on their own when they are done opening up.

Thank you,
Eddie

You need to change the way you surf...you are tying up computer resources unnecessarily.
Learn to just open new "tabs" in IE7 or download FireFox (my preference also) and learn to use the tabs there. Your multiple pages will now be clickable tabs under the toolbar.

Learn how to use Tabs and you will get exactly what you want with only one instance of IE loaded into memory. You can jump back and forth, you'll get fewer crashes, and it is faster. The attachment show three web sites open that are listed under the toolbar: TBN "Help needed with my com...", Countrybynet, and Drudge. You can jump between them without minimizing or having others load in front of your current page. You can close each tab individually, or close them all with the red-X box in the right upper corner.

I agree with the others, Eddie. You should open I.E. once and then open each additional page that you want to view in TABS, not in individual occurrences of I.E.

TABS will let you do exactly what you want.... open pages and let them load in the background without them popping up over the page you are currently reading after they are done loading.

Thanks everyone. Sounds like I've been doing it backwards.

Hint, middle-click (with the roller) on a link, that will open it in a new tab in the background.

No. You're browsing "style" suits you. They are just offering a different method of doing it.

I did try opening multiple windows using IE, but couldn't replicate what you are experiencing. When I opened a new windows and went back to the 1st one, the 2nd didn't come to the foreground when it finished loading. I looked for IE settings that might cause this but didn't see anything.

It could be a toolbar or other add-on that is installed that is causing this behavior.

The computers resources are probably mostly idle while browsing anyway.

It's kinda like saying you got this hot rod car that will do 150 MPH but to conserve it's resources you should putter along at 20 MPH.
