Hi Folks,
I recently picked up this planter for some food plot work and am having some trouble identifying it. It is in good shape and looks to have been reconditioned. While the paint says John Deere, I've gone through nearly every John Deere manual I can find and still have yet to find anything close. Perhaps it was just what was in the paint gun at the time?
Specifically, it has no press wheels which it seems most John Deere planters, even antique ones come with. The planters are set up on 36" centers on the bar and I'm guessing with the correct tractor wheel spacing the next pass, the tractor tire performs the "pressing" of the soil on around the seed.
It came with several sets of John Deere "B" planter plates which I'm assuming fit it, but have yet to verify they do.
I would like to identify it if possible and find a manual that will explain the setup for various seed.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
