My guess is a voltage regulator but I have no idea for what. I think its for a tractor but I'm not even sure about that.

There is no mark on it anywhere. No numbers or even manufacture mark.

Could be a regulator, but you would need to find the pin out somehow to make it useful.
Do you know what it came out of or have the matching connector?

That's indeed a common aftermarket voltage regulator. Usually fits old grey market tractors since they had a generator instead of an alternator.

Tractors like Kubota, Iseki, Hinomoto, Shibaura, Yanmar and several others. Also things like diesel generators or compressors use those to keep the battery charged.
