I just picked up a grapple bucket for a skid steer and it has whatever couplers that skid steers take, I suppose, and I need to adapt them to my Kubota, which has smaller connectors on it, for my 4n1 bucket. The skid steer couplers measure .970" on the male end and the tractor couplers are .750 on the male end. The threaded ends are also much different. I am not sure what to measure to look for the correct connectors.
Can anyone tell me how to proceed here?

Thanks,
Chris

Skid steer couplers are usually flat faced couplers. Kubota uses Pioneer style couplers for the most part. Trundle down to your local TSC or tractor dealers and buy a set of Pioneer females to match the ones on your tractor.

Flat faced and Pioneer won't interchange and there are no adapters that I know of.

Had that issue with out skid steer and changed them to Pioneer

Coupling size is dependent on the flow rate. Skid steers have a higher flow rate to operate attachments like Harley rakes, brooms, etc., so the hoses and couplers will be larger. The 3rd function on a tractor has a lower flow rate, so smaller hoses and couplings. Sounds like you will need to get smaller couplings to fit the tractor. Either use the existing hoses with an adapter at the tractor end or replace the hoses with smaller hoses to fit the couplings and use an adapter where they attach to the implement.

I take the connector off my tractor and a connector off the attachment and take them to a hydraulic hose shop. I tell them I need this to fit to this. They always fix me up in a couple of minutes.

So as others have said, skid steers use flat faced couplers with the 2 most popular sizes being 1/2" & 3/4" usually, most skid steer grapples that I have seen use the 1/2" couplers, and as an earlier poster stated a hydraulic shop can fix you up in a few minutes even if they have to make you a couple of short coupler hoses.

I found, on the grapple side, 18mm-1.5 straight female threads with an o-ring. I am not sure what this thread configuration is called, as it isn't NPT.
I'll head up to tractor supply to see if they have anything.
Tractor side, in thumbnail. I suppose they are "pioneer" style.
This is the skid steer side, coupler on the left and hose end on the right:

Those fittings are DIN 2353 metric fittings. Also on the coupler in your hand looks like there is an adapter from Male 1/2" BSPP to M18x1.5.

OK, pulled the adapter from the quick coupling and found it measures .819"-14 male, straight threads with a flat rubber washer, instead of o-ring.

Yes, that's an adapter M18x1.5 to 1/2" BSPP. That one has the rubber washer incorporated. Some times they use a dowty washer which is a washer with a rubber ring molded in it that takes care of all the sealing it needs.

OK, I'm on the hunt. TSC did not have anything with these threads on the shelf.
Thanks for the advice.
