Picked up this old tractor recently. Previous owner says its a '73 or '74 Farmall Cub. I can't find any identifying markings on it and wanted to see if any of you Farmall experts can confirm. Thanks!
I can't tell you exactly what year, but a 73 or 4 cub would have much different sheet metal. Much more square in appearence. Ck on YTMAG.com, the farmall boys there will set you right.
Thanks everyone for the replies. I guess the fellow I got it from didn't know what he had! Doesn't bother me at all. Maybe one day it'll look like the one in that picture Rick! By the way, will the serial number allow me to tell what year model it is?
Thats not the serial. Its on top of the transmission casting about 2 inched back from the shifter. It will be a slightly raised rectangle. The numbers are inside of it. Might need to be wire brushed to see the numbers.
I've been visiting regularly for several years now and it never ceases to amaze me how much knowledge there is out there and how quickly it is exchanged. I'm sure that the OP could have gotten to the same place by a lot of on-line 'digging' but we are truly blessed to have this 'community' to learn from. Well done.
