I am in the middle of a big project and my tractor won't start! It has 100 hours on it and I have had it for 13 months. I parked it and when I went to start it I got nothing at all. No crank, click or anything. I made sure the PTOs were not engaged, the clutch was pressesd down. I checked the fuses on the RF firewall, they were OK. Oil and Hydro fluids OK. Lights shine brightly. What am I missing?
Thanks David

And the range selector lever was in one of the "neutral" positions? I'd probably start by moving the range selector lever forward and backward while holding the key in the start position to see if a safety switch was not adjusted just right. If that didn't help, I'd try the same thing with the PTO engagement levers, and if that didn't work, I'd be looking under there to see if a wire was loose from one of the safety switches (or somewhere else).

Bird,
I have never had to have the range selector lever in a neutral position. It has always started in any position. I went out and tried what you suggested but it didn't work. I can't seem to shift the rear PTO lever out of the off position . It is getting dark now and will have to look for the safety switches in the AM.
Thanks,
David
Hayden, that fuse is for the main power. Without that you will not have any power to anything. I'm pretty sure they moved the switch from the range shifter to the HST pedal. Try rocking the pedal while holding the key to start, make sure the range shifter is in neutral to avoid going for an un expected ride. The problem they were having was if you stopped in gear and the machine was loaded up, say on a slight incline or jammed into a pile. You couldn't get the range shifter back into neutral due to gear wind up. So they moved it to the pedal.

Art (Kubmech),
THANKS!!! It worked!!! I was getting worried because the service dept at the local dealership is less than stellar. They are also very slow at getting to your equipment. Where is the safety switch for the speed control? If it is going bad I'd like to replace it.
Thanks to all the TBNers who so generously give of their time to help each other out.
David
I can't remember for sure, If it's not in the area of the pedal, it may be on the left side behind the rear fender. Linkage runs to the left for the "cruise control".
I knew there was no interlock on the range shifter (my old B2400 had one and I disabled it), but I never knew there was one on the HST peddle. Learn something new every day.
I have a 2710...and have had problems starting it at times.
I finally figured out that the safety switches were not adjusted
properly. All three of them caused me problems, and they are not that easy to get to and get them adjusted. But no problems since getting them right. And they never seem to be a problem when parked next to the shop.
