I’m having trouble mounting the backhoe – the top hole in the top link at the tractor does not line up - too far toward the tractor /forums/images/graemlins/confused.gif. I bought the b7800 tractor used last month, the backhoe this month. The backhoe came off a b7800. I don’t have the reinforced top link connector on the tractor yet. The backhoe instruction book does not mention the b7800 specifically, but the backhoe appears to be set up for a b2910. Any suggestions?
Also, I considered rearranging the top arm but the bolts don’t budge for me. What does it take to work these (about 36mm aircraft bolts)?

Jim,
I have a B2910 with a BL4690B - I would not run the 'hoe without the reinforced toplink bracket - Kubota puts it there for a reason. I can tell ya for sure that the toplink bracket does take some very significant stresses.
It also could be that the reinforced toplink bracket has the holes in a slightly different position that the regular one which would allow it to mount correctly - dunno on this, I never checked it personally.
And I believe if the 'hoe was configured for a 2910 when it was assembled it should work fine on your B7800.
There is a difference between B2910 & B7800 setup. Here is a thread that discusses the problem. Click Here
Please do not operate your BH without the heavyduty top-link bracket. This could be a very expensive mistake if the rear housing of your B7800 failed.
Thanks Randall and Ron for your replies. I missed the thread Ron mentions when I searched before posting. That thread suggests the mast should be set up like a B2710, which makes sense just eye-balling it.
Now I need to find some real tools to handle the 400-500 ft. lbs. torque on the 7/8in. fasteners.
Thanks again!
