Discovered the positive battery post connector had corroded almost completely away. I disconnected the cable put on a new connector, new battery, and it won't start. Lights all work...any ideas are appreciated.:mur:
Are you sure you got all of the + wires in the new connector ? Since the old one rotted away there may have been a smaller feed wire in the connector also that may have fallen away that can't be seen easily.
Yea, I stripped back the rubber covering @ 1/2 inch and tightened the connector. Am I missing a fuse somewhere that could've been blown? Like I mentioned, lights all work, etc. When turning the key, oil light, glow plug light and battery lite all come on, but when turning the key all the way to right, nothing.:confused2:
Do the lights stay bright or go all the way dim when you turn the key all the way to the right? If they go real dim, you still have a bad connection. If they stay bright, I'd suggest a safety switch is the issue. Remember to remove the entire negative cable, clean the battery post, the inner cable and the other end where it bolts to the frame.
ok, I stopped by my Mahindra dealer tonite, but they were closing. Had a quick discussion, sounds like there's a small type of connector that should come off the positive and connect to the main connector. gonna stop back tomorrow when weve got more time.
