farmall cub
Hey guys and gals I am new to the forum.. I have a 54' farmall cub I am going to be restoring this winter.. Got it home two weeks ago changed the fluids , rebuilt the carb and had to braise the hydrolic manifold.. After some charging I got it started.. The battery seams to be junk.. I topped it off with distilled water but its not holding a charge.. The tractor is going to need a new clutch as well.. Can't wait to get it restored and back in use.. The sickle bar will be nice for trimming under the trees in the field.. I may even plow with it !! :)

Welcome to TractorByNet. Before you trash that battery. Take a dropper and remove several ounces of water from each cell. Now take some Epsom salts and mix with distiller water and refill the cells. Discharge the battery and rapid charge it a few cycles. The Epsom salts with break down the Sulfated plates and rejuvenate your battery. You have a 50/50 chance of saving the battery. I saved several batteries this way.
