Hey everyone,
I am a first-time tractor owner, from Appleton, Wis., anxiously waiting for the delivery of my new Massey-Ferguson 1705.
My wife and I have a small place in the country where we have six donkeys and hope to raise some chickens and a lot of vegetables.
We need the 1705 for moving piles of donkey poop, and we also would like to till a couple of acres for growing stuff.
And, of course, we will use it to move snow.
Before buying the little Massey, we looked at a lot of old tractors, including some Fords from the 1950s. Most of the old ones had problems, or something wasn't right about the deal. The good ones were expensive, too.
So here we are, hoping to get our first tractor in the next couple of weeks and learning everything we can about using and taking care of it.
Since we are nearing retirement, this was a big purchase for us that we hope will last for many years.
Any and all advice is appreciated.
