Hello everyone , the system wants me to post a first message so here goes :)

I'm an owner of a YM-2000 that I picked up last year for $500 , it has treated me well so far but want to give her a little tlc

So Yeah, what should I be doing to keep her healthy?

Welcome to the forum. You have found the best source of Yanmar info on the net. I noticed your post yesterday eve. There hasn't been a reply yet. I suspect everyone is jealous of your bargain.

I haven't found mine to need any special attention beyond normal maintenance--replacement of a couple of worn or broken (due to my abuse) parts, cleaning the air filter, replacing the fuel filter, oil changes, occasional greasing, cleaning the radiator, etc. These are pretty simple, rugged machines. Some of us have made some mods--added gauges, added ROPS (IMHO a wise idea), and a few other things. I learned a lot just browsing through the old posts when I got my Yanmar.

Welcome to the forum. If you don't have an operators manual I would recommend that to start with. Lot's of good info there about service, etc. I must say getting a $500 ym2000 is sort of like robbing a bank.
