So, almost three years ago I moved out of a tidy little suburb and bought a house not far from town on 25 acres. The house came with a 1950-something Nuffield Universal 3 tractor. I had a blast on the old beast pulling trees that I had taken down closer to the house for processing. One day, as I was maneuvering it into position to hook onto a rather large Ash, i discovered that brakes on a tractor are kind of important and that you really shouldn't just rely on gearing to slow you down. Any ways, the draw bar got hung up on a large rock and stopped the Nuff from proceeding over a small embankment, but not before my life flashed before my eyes and bringing the front end off the ground. It never ran properly after that.

Flash forward a year and a half and I have successfully managed to rationalize my way to buying a brand new tractor. I look forward to many happy hours playing in the back yard and, as my kids say, cleaning the forest. I have learned a lot here on TBN already and look forward to benefiting from the wisdom in these pages.
