2004 BX 1500
New member here, just bought a bx 1500 and have been wading thru the excellent info and threads here.

I have the 54" mmm and was wondering if there was anything to watch for with setup or leveling when its delivered tomorrow.

I am also thinking of buying the tiny tach. Does anyone know the size of the transducer for it??????? The Bx2200's is 6mm but i havent found anything for the Bx1500......

Any other info or things to do or watch for would be greatly appreciated.

I do have at my disposal a nice digital camera so if anyone needs any pics on the Bx1500 let me know. /forums/images/graemlins/cool.gif

Welcome to the forums. The best advice that I can give you is to wax the entire machine when it arrives. It will never be that clean again in its entire life. Watch out for rocks in the lawn and take a test spin around the lawn when it is delivered. That way, you will know that the deck is cutting properly. If you remove the deck for any reason, make sure that when you reinstall it, that the driveshaft collar is firmly seated on the PTO shaft.

Hi,

Welcome to the forum! The BX1500 is a great tractor and this is a great source of information for all your tractor related questions. I just received my BX1500 two weeks ago and have been giving it a good workout doing the landscaping around my house. Actually my friends think I am a bit nuts as I am way more excited about the BX than the new house!

Will you use it year round? It appears you only got a MMM so I wondered if you would do things with it in the winter. If you are I'd get a block heater right now. They do save on wear down the road.

Don't ever run it out of diesel, ever.

This is what I was told, also, but when complaining to my dealer that my lawn tractor only had an idiot light to indicate low fuel and you couldn't see it if flashing if the sun was shining (when I try to mow /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif) he said that running out of fuel isn't good, but it isn't the problem it used to be years ago. Something about electronic shutoff or prime or something...

Does anyone have the gist of this?

Yes I plan on either purchasing the fel / 3ph snowblower combination or just a front snowblower. I have been reading and am not sure which is better. See there was a little something called a wife i had to overcome for this purchase so i bare bonesed the tractor so it would look cheaper LOL. The wife and I about a year ago read a book on finances which stated carrying debt was bad so we have in the last year erased most of ours and she now has the purse strings very tight. It was rough enough with what i got considering she let me get it before the list she has started haaaaaaa.

If you can do without the FEL in the winter, it is much easier if the snowblower is on the front.
If you need to move snowbanks, etc., then you need the FEL/ 3PH blower combo. If you have alot to do, make friends with a chiropractor- it's not much fun spending that time twisted around!!!
I have a BX2200 with front snowblower and a B2410 with FEL/ 3PH combo.
