has anyone thought of away to provide heat to the operater in cold weather? I don't have a cab and don't want one , how ever alittle heat on the cold mornings would be nice.

i have often given it a thought and my idea was to get a heater coil out of a old car and tie it into the colling system and put a fan behind it to blow in the war air

I bought a heater from Curtis Cabs. it is basically a heater core with a fan behind it. It is a nice little unit, that comes with 5/8 heater hose that hooks into a T adapter that they provide. The adapter goes into the bottom return hose that attaches to the radiator and the feed line is a 5/8 fitting that goes under the thermostat housing. They provide the threaded fitting and on the B2710 there is a Threaded Bung Plug that you remove and replace with the fitting. A wire runs to any 12V source in the fuse box and they include a 2 position (HI/LO) switch. At $249 I thought it was pretty reasonable, it would cost at least that to put one together yourself........

Maybe some canvas run back from the rad to direct the fan air back to the operator would work. Used to call them heat houser's before the days of cabs. The canvas goes on the outside and covers the sides of the engine.
