does anyone use a heater on their tractor for easier cold weather starts? my moto has to set outside, so cold weather starting is difficult. it will start, but i have top cycle glow plugs at least twice, and then let it crank for a few seconds before it starts. have checked glow plugs, and all are heating. was thinking about one of those lower radiator hose heaters and plug it in at night. has anyone used one of these, and what are the drawbacks? also, what is the size of the radiator hose on a hinomoto c-144? i am guessing to be 1 1/4 inch i.d. any help is welcome!!

Howdi!.. I am told that a lower hose heater is a poor choice because the radiator works against it. As the heater heats the water, The radiator cools it back down. I am told you need a Frost Plug Heater. Easy to install but not so easy to find.. Im currently looking for one for my Iseki.

The block heater is the best choice. I do install lower radiator hose heaters on models that can't use a block heater. They work good. With 15-30 minutes heating in cold weather the tractor will start like it is summer.
