Kubota B26, John deere X595
Does anyone know if the headlight assembly on an X595 2004 comes apart for cleaning? I know it does on my GX345, but I can't see how or if it does on my X595. I found a new one on eBay for $100. I think it's ridiculous. As a matter of fact I can't believe the prices on all the CHEAP plastic parts that Deere uses. The tractor itself, under the plastic exterior, is a very well built machine, best I have ever seen. But the exterior plastic parts are not worth the boxes they are shipped in, and they have a lot of nerve charging what they do for them.

I just replaced my headlight assembly with a new one purchased on Ebay. Overpriced for what it is, but I'm slowly cleaning up my 'new' '02 x595 that I purchased last month.

The housing itself appears to be heat-welded or otherwise bonded to the lens portion. In other words, it appears disposable...

Have you guys checked out the headlights on your cars lately? Why should the tractors be any different?

Are you referring to hazing on the clear lense? Get one of those headlight lense cleaning kits at autozone and clean it up. The discoloring you may be seeing is on the outside.

No, my problem is that dirt got inside. And quite a bit. It just seems to make sense that if they are going to make them a sealed unit, then they should be completely sealed, which they are not. What bothers me is that Deere is well aware that this is going to happen. Doesn't seem right that in order to get my headlights to actually light up my path, I now have to spend $100+ for a new unit, that will eventually have the same problem. My Kubota is looking better every day.
