Does anyone have any drawing, plans or ideas for homemade head gates? With the cost of a new one running around $500 - $600, on my shoestring budget that's a lot. If possible I'd like to use wood (cheaper) but I could use metal (I'd have to pay for welding). It would be used for goats (with horns) so it doesn't have to be as large as for cattle.
Thanks
Steve

With the price of steel and the labor involved, it would be cheaper to buy one. I bought this one (Picture 1) at TSC for $360 and built the rest (Picture 2) at a cost of about $480. The whole system sells for nearly $1500. I work my goat heard with it. It works very well and a real labor, not to mention frustration, saver.
