Hay Preservative & Horses

Hay preservatives (propionic acid). Is it safe for horses?
Has anyone had problems feeding this treated hay to horses. Before I buy need your opinions or your experiences with this preservative

From what I have been told it is safe for horses but can make it a bit salty tasting so they eat too much.

And being acidic, it's probably a little tangy, too. So even horses like a little dressing on their salad?? /forums/images/graemlins/grin.gif

It is perfectly safe for all animals. It does not alter the taste of the hay at all. It's the same as preservatives in your food. You may get a hint of taste but nothing you would really notice.
