Hay elevator motor question

I was looking at the Hayrite skeleton elevator at Tractor Supply. $850 for a 16 footer. Motor and pulley sold separately. What motor will I need, where can I get it and what do they cost?

hayrite website angle and elevation come into play but a 3/4- 1 hp will work fine. My 20 ft hayrite had a 1 hp

Agreed. 3/4 horse will run a 16' elevator at just about any angle at a reasonable speed. pulley should probably be in the 2-1/2 to 3" or so range.

The OP manual for the elevator should give some guidelines, I'd expect.
