I have to raise (find the sweet spot) the Forward/Neutral/Reverse shift lever left of the steering wheel half way b/w Neutral and Forward before the 1920 will turnover/crank. What do I need to replace/adjust? This is a friend's tractor and he tells me he has always (purchased used) had to do this.

My 1920 is same onshuttle lever. Could be many worn things causing it. But it does make it harder to steal.

I am not familiar with the 1920. I have a Ford 4610 and it has a neutral switch that has to be made before it can crank. It gets out of adjustment and you have to move the high-neutral-low shifter to get it right.

It seems to me you have a switch in your system that needs adjusting. Just a thought.

From the manual:"The transmission neutral switch is a rotary type switch that has a small pin that fits into a groove in upper end of shift lever shaft. To adjust switch, loosen switch retaining screws and move switch until continuity is indicated at switch terminals."
