Hats

Being hair challenged as well, I am a Tilley man.

I used to do straw hats, but I would get sunburns through any little vents and the sweat bands/hats would get get rather ripe after a few uses.

Here's my Tilley hat. With this style, the outside and the inside lining is perforated. It blocks the sun and lets a breeze in at the same time.

I got a Stetson that looks just like that.

Jeeze, Bob, my neighbors already think I'm ready for a padded room...If they caught me out mowing my grass or tilling my garden in one of those, they would probably come and take me away.
Reminds me of the postman I had when we first moved to KY. He would see me setting posts on a hot sunny day and stop to chat. When he first stopped, after intro's and some small talk he said, "you know, around here people generally do that kind of work on a cooler or cloudy day". I replied that if your neighbors think that you are a little bit off, they tend to leave you alone, lol! He got a chuckle out of that.

Anyway, I wear a light tan ball cap with a liberal dose of sunscreen on my neck, and face. I coat my ears too though I wear headphones on the mower. My hats get a bath on occasion and while they are not what I would wear to go to town, I have some four or five years. I really should invest in a canopy though.
