Backhoe Has anyone had to replace backhoe teeth

I have the model 48 backhoe and got very sick of constantly knocking off the stupid teeth. Earlier this summer, after losing three teeth digging out rocks and roots, I cracked the bucket prying out a stuck rock. Got it all reinforced and all new teeth peened on. Not long after that, the first tooth popped off. Screw it! I welded them all on. I ran a weld along the bottom edge at the back, and also added a couple beads across the bottom of the tooth as sacrificial wear material. I noticed that the bottom of the tooth tends to wear, then it cracks, and the tooth slips off. I also added a couple welds up on the sides of each tooth. All my welds could be ground off the post if a tooth pops off. We have tons of rocks and roots, so the bucket takes a real beating. Haven't done a huge amount of digging with the welded on teeth, but I'm inclined to stick with the welded-on approach. Much easier than beating my brains out trying to get the teeth on tight with the crimp method. If one pops off, or the weld cracks, I'll pay attention to how the weld fails and add more metal.
