We put one of these on my son in laws truck plow for early season plowing before the ground was frozen. Some pro snowplow mechanic told me about it and like most things Id never heard of it. Boy did it work great. So well in fact that we just leave it on permanently riding on the wear bar.
Fast forward a couple years I am truly sick of the uselessness of my 1736 bucket for plowing. It drifts over then digs in yada yada. I have a 7' Dearbon on the rear but hate not getting full utility out of Both ends. Last week I started thinking hey if that 1 1/2' pipe worked so well on the Boss why not fab one up for my bucket and try it. All I can say is Perfect. It shears off blades of grass but no digging in. I haven't even worked out a suitable mount to hold it on yet like teeth have. Just driving it on with the sledge Hamer keeps it in place so far quite nicely.
The hardest part of making the the thing is cutting a straight cut the whole length of the pipe. I used a plasma cutter but it would be as easy to us a skill saw and steel disk. Easy peasey and as close to free as you can get .

Edge-Tamers. I have 3 60" wide FEL buckets and can change my three from one to another in < 15 min. I mount 'em 8" in from the corners and use a third one in the center to spare my driveways crown. They take the gouge out of plowing over gravel, grass, etc and have cut my plowing time about in half with an unreliable bucket level indicator. This guy likes 'em too.

Ordered a set 11-28-2021 and they are supposed to be delivered by ups tomorrow , I‘m pretty anxious to give them a try.

I have had a set of edge tamers since January of 2016, they work very well. Used them today to take 4" (50" bucket) of very wet snow off of a 2000' driveway, place the bucket in float and move along at about 6 to 8 mph. They are good at keeping the gravel on the road where it belongs. Snow was way to heavy (wet) for my oversized backblade to pull the snow uphill. Edge tamers to the rescue.

I would love to see a picture of it mounted on your tractor !

I tested this concept (which I read about here) using a length of pvc pipe that I ran through my table saw. It works perfect, planned on splitting a steel pipe with the plasma cutter.

Once I got a company truck which includes a plow I decided not to bother.

It does work very well at keeping the gravel on the driveway though, highly recommend. For what it’s worth, I got four plowings out is the PVC before it shattered.

Pipe edge works good for cleaning manure up.

Unfortunate that no one was able to take a picture

It's a pretty simple process, simpler if you have a plasma cutter or metal blade for your circular saw.

Basically I was just going to cut a slit in the pipe wide enough to fit over the plow's cutting edge, put it on, then measure up to the carriage bolts that fasten the cutting edge, then weld on some tabs to hold it in place. There are pictures here on TBN, just a quick search and some of them show pipe on the cutting edge of the bucket, there are probably pics of a pipe on a plow as well. Same concept though.
