I bought a new XR4046. With only 1.5 of seat time I'm still having trouble with shifting the through ranges. It seems like a linkage issue but not sure. Dealer said that have to feather it. Sometimes it grinds to get into gear. I'm coming to a complete stop and using the clutch. I'm feel there is something wrong and just wondering if others had similar issue.

I do not have the same tractor yet have had 2 other gear ones. If you have the clutch in and hear gears grinding the clutch is not fully releasing. I would say the clutch needs to be adjusted.

Are you talking about shifting between ranges or through the gears within a range? I have an XR4145, and while I'm not sure if it is the same transmission, mine is touchy going between ranges. It has gotten better over time (just over 100 hours now), but you still have to feel it in a little. Going between gears in a range is fine. I found that it works better if I come to a full stop, put the fwd/rev selector and gear selector in neutral, and don't push in the clutch or brakes, it allows the tractor to move just a little and slide into range easier. You just have to play with it a little.

I'm referring to the range, on the left side of the seat. I sprayed the linkage with wd40 and that seems to help some. I still feel it is harder than it should be.

The lever being hard to move is one issue.

Grinding gears is a separate issue.

My Kubota is precise when changing ranges. You better be completely stopped and don't rush it or it will grind a little.

While having the tractor parked in neutral with RPMs @2000 on handle throttle and pushing the foot pedal to raise the RPMs the engine seem to drop a couple hundred RPMs. I was lifting and lowering the loader during this time. I only have 7 hours on tractor and only 6 days old I'm starting to think I have a lemon. I have been around tractors all my life but none have been a LS. I was between a DK5010 Kioti and I'm stating to wonder if I should have bought it. Thanks guys
