Buying Advice Hard time deciding

Cabelas sporting goods store contracted with TYM to make tractors for them, but when the Cabelas company was sold, the tractors were discontinued.

Cabela's sale to BassPro had nothing to do with them discontinuing the tractors. They weren't selling so Cabela's pulled the plug in 2016. The actual acquisition of Cabela's was finalized in September 2017.

However the TYM and Cabelas deal did not last - whether the 'camo' approach kept them from being seen by potential buyers, who can say?!:confused2:

Now they're trying a different approach, from what's being told in this thread, offering very competitive pricing to jump start sales, maybe it will move the current badge along to becoming a real competitor, and maybe not.
All I can say about Kioti is what has already been said. They already are a strong brand and for good reason in today's tractor market. I've owned two in the last nine years, and have been very satisfied with their performance, price point and ability to do whatever job I throw their way.
I'd have no hesitation buying the brand again. I also own their UTV.

I thought I read here that the decision to discontinue tractors was made by the new owners. However, the two events may still be related. When a company is considering selling, they will sometimes jettison unprofitable divisions first, so their bottom line looks better to prospective buyers. Regardless, the tractor segment was undoubtably unprofitable.

Agreed. No doubt it was going to be tossed before or after the buyout. Usually happens before. The buyer dictates the deal terms.

My Kioti CK2610 is solid!

All issues were caused by me.

Went to RK this morning ready to spend 26k. After spending 45 minutes on waiting for someone to help me, I left. I think that answers my question of Kioti vs RK. Thanks for all the information guys. I still feel the RK tractors are well made and they are a great value, I just feel maybe they need to work on some kinks in service area. The salesperson was busy, no fault of his.

I feel for you, but I hear that kind of lack of attention to detail happens way too much at many brand tractor stores; especially those who think they are doing you a favor to even acknowledge your existence on the lot or showroom.
If I was a dealership owner of any brand I'd make sure that never happened to potential customers. At the very least they should acknowledge your presence, and ask if you'd like to wait or would prefer an appointment another day, etc. Leaving potential buyers money burning a hole in their pocket is NO way to run any business!
So, Kioti hopefully gives you a way better buying opportunity. If for some reason they leave you hanging, ask for the dealer principal/owner and get their attention. I'd hate to hear both you and a reputable Kioti dealer let you walk. Be assertive and get their attention in 15 minutes or less. You deserve it, no matter how busy they might be.
Good luck, post back results. I know you'll love the brand!

I have been very happy with Kioti tractor (spent 4 hours in it today) and the dealer that I bought it from. That being said, I don't think that I would drive 300 miles to get something that will eventually need service. Being able to drive 20 minutes to pickup filters that I know will fit, hydraulic fittings that I know will fit, and other parts that are right is worth a lot. Any other Kioti dealers closer?

I have my selling dealer within 1/2 hour drive. Unless I'm in that town most of my hydraulic and other filters are bought from dealers that have an online presence, and that includes the few parts I need from time to time. Some, like air filters I can get at any Napa or other national chain store.
I've never experienced a breakdown that required dealer service in nine years with either my first or current Kioti tractor with a total of over 1,500 hours service time.. :confused3:

I have no experience with the RK 37.
All I can add is I have a 2001 Kioti DK 35.
Its been a great tractor for me.
17 years and 2145 hours tractor has never been back to the dealer.
