A woman wanting to earn extra money decided to do odd jobs for her wealthy neighbors.

At the first house, the owner said, "Well, you can paint my porch. How much will you charge?"

"$50" she replies.

The man agrees and gives her the paint and brushes and goes back in the house. The man's wife overheard their conversation and asked him if she had realized that the porch goes all around the house.

"She should. She was standing on it."

A short time later the woman came to the door to collect her money.

"You've finished already?" the man asked.

"Yeah, and I had paint left over so i gave two coats."

Impressed the man reaches for the money. "And by the way," the woman added, "it's not a porch. Its a Lexus."

HF is selling some higher end tools. I've been giving them a try. Got an Earthquake 1/2" composite impact, some Icon rachets and a Hercules 12v screw gun. They all seem to be quality and perform great. My only concern is the Hercules Lithium Ion 12V battery. They don't have much of a warranty like Ryobi but the tools are very compact and powerful. I figure that if the batteries don't last I'll rebuild them.

I agree, especially the 'Icon' tools. I bought the 1/2" drive Torque Wrench. Basically identical to my Snap-On at 1/4 the price. Certainly a keeper. In fact the Snap-On is on CL right now. Asking a bit more than what I paid for the Icon.

They have good stuff and they have substandard one time and landfill stuff too. All is dependent on what you want. You want cheap, you get cheap.

Gotta love the 30% coupon for 5 items under $10. Walked out of HF today with a 10ft 16gauge orange extension cord, a box of 5mil 100ct nitrile gloves, an 8ft 3/8in 300psi air hose with brass fittings, and a free 5' x 7' blue tarp for $15 that includes 9% sales tax!

Well done. I used the 30% coupon for 9 items under $10 downloaded from the HFCDB yesterday. Gave my two paper coupons for 30% off 5 items under $10 to two customers that were shopping in the store when I was there. They knew nothing about the coupons and were very appreciative. Sometimes folks' reaction to the smallest gestures of kindness from strangers is surprising.

^^ I'll be looking for the tape measure ones again. They're not all that durable and I keep losing them. What bugs me though is that the tape won't support itself much beyond 5 or 6 feet.

But free is free.

Has anybody tried the Drummond 1/10 hp water transfer pump. Thinking of buying one to get water into my rv from water jugs.

I've only run mine for around an hour. I power it with the predecessor to the Tailgator generator. So far, so good.
