Hi,

I've got a GX345 that is forcing oil up out of the fill tube (by the dipstick cap). It seems to run fine. Also, the battery light comes on and stay on for much of the time, though this has been happening for longer than the oil issue.

Thoughts?

Welcome to the TBN

For how long have these two things been happening? moments? days? weeks? months?

The battery light was going on last year. No starting or running problems.

The oil leaking I've noticed over the last month but wasn't sure where it was coming from or how much.

So it is it a couple drops of oil to the floor after mowing for an hour or is it enough you have to add oil to mow the next time. How many hours are on it? How long has it been since the oil was changed? What size deck? (The larger the deck the sooner the engine will start showing signs of wear.) How often do you change the oil and filter? What grade of oil is it?

At this point it comes out in a small stream. I haven't changed the oil filter this year. Could the filter be plugged? Could the gasket on the dipstick just be crap? How much pressure is there normally in there?

You may have a filter problem. I would change the oil and filter and replace the dipstick gasket if you can that will only cost 30 bucks or so. otherwise your going to be looking at internal parts or valve adjustments.
