GT275 wont restart

First off, hello again

I think the original poster is saying that the tractor would even turn over(like how mine has had a bad connection at the PTO switch). No turn over, Definitely won't get spark. Now if it turned over and then wouldn't start....that's another story.

I am pretty ignorant about these sorts of mechanical things but it seems like there were two problems.

At first the tractor would start with no problem and run well. However, when it was shut off to empty the clipping bags it would not restart unless you left it alone for a while. Then.....started up with no problem.

Then one day I came out to start it and when I turned the key none of the lights on the dash lit up and there was no indication of any power. I tried jumping it and the battery seemed ok but nothing. So I looked at the little plunger under the seat and it seemed ok and so I tried the button that starts the lawn mower. First I push down and it seemed like was already down. Then I pulled up and all the lights on the dash came on. I knew I could not start in the up position so I pushed it down, the lights went out but it still would not start. Tried pulling up on the mower button and this time the lights did not come on.

I am still ignorant but I dont think a pitted carb is going to have much to do with the electrical. Those have really been my only problems with the GT so I am pretty lucky all in all.
